Anglesey Tourism Awards

Anglesey is one of the UK's most spectacular and unique holiday playgrounds. Fantastic Blue Flag beaches, traffic free countryside, five premier golf courses, majestic castles, 125 miles of coastal walkway and history and culture aplenty - all of which attracts over 1.4 million visitors a year.

The sell-out evening event at Tre-Ysgawen Hall saw local BBC presenter Rhun ap Iorwerth announce the winning nominations across 15 categories. Organised by the Anglesey Tourism Association, Jane Blakey chair commented;

“The Anglesey Tourism Awards celebrate success, exemplify good practice and promote all that is best in tourism in the Region. Tonight’s winners have shown that the tourism industry on the Island is of an exceptionally high standard and that quality prevails.

“Anglesey has so much to offer visitors and its diversity and tourism offer is what makes it such a popular holiday destination and tonight’s winners and silver winners will help cement the Island’s well deserved reputation further.”

Two special awards were presented during the ceremony. Plas Coch and Ye Olde Bulls Head Inn & Townhouse were awarded the Quality Regeneration Tourism Award for their exceptional investment which raises the standards of provision on the Island to a totally new level. While Anglesey Sea Zoo was awarded the Environmental & Conservation Award for its dynamic conservation programme which is reducing and mitigating the undesirable impacts on the natural environment while continuing to develop their successful tourism business.
